Icaria

Icaria is the mortal realm in which the histories of Dragon's Exodus unfold.

A changing geography

Icaria is not always a single reliable surface. Its lands include thresholds, folded spaces and pocket realms whose connection to ordinary geography can weaken, vanish and return.

The Mists lie along some of those boundaries. A place can recede into the Mists without being destroyed or moved to an unrelated location, then emerge again when its connection is restored.

The Mists are not ordinary weather, Darkness, Void or another name for the Astral Plane. Their exact nature remains incompletely understood by Icarian scholars.

History and the present age

Icarian histories survive as chronicles, legends, religious teachings and common accounts whose authors often disagree. The Common Account records the widely repeated tradition without treating it as an omniscient verdict.

The present age is largely post-pantheon. Gods and other planar immortals are not ordinary figures of daily life, while The Nexus serves as a living hub for travel and trade.
